ESG Commitment

ESG stands for “Environment, Social, and Governance” – three key areas that reflect how our business impacts the world around us. These indicators guide us toward better decisions that consider the needs of nature and society while emphasizing responsible governance. They are at the heart of our approach to sustainable textile waste management and value creation.

Our achievements are a result of detailed sorting, state of the art recycling facility and widespread collection operations. Through a wide range of recovery solutions, we prioritize extending the lifecycle of textiles over energy recovery or landfilling.

Our promises, strategy and targets

Environment

We are committed to circular textile management, ensuring every garment finds a new life — either through recycling or by passing it on to a new owner. By operating at the highest possible level in the waste hierarchy, we significantly reduce our environmental impact. This is evidenced by the carbon emissions saved through our activities.

We set bold environmental goals and report our progress transparently. For our EMAS-scope activities, we target:

  • a 2% decrease in CO2 emissions (Scope 1, 2, and transportation);
  • 4% increase in collected textile waste;
  • 5% increase in the amount of textile sorted.

We constantly measure the textile waste fraction that goes to landfilling and strive to keep it as close to 0% as possible.

We actively collaborate with our partners — manufacturers, municipalities, and retailers — to manage textile waste effectively. In 2024, through our 528 specialised bins in Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, we have collected more than 4 046 tonnes of unwanted clothes while also receiving more than 500 tonnes of production textile waste from manufacturers.

Social Responsibility

We strive to demonstrate our social responsibility both internally – through adequate policies for employees, and externally – through interaction with local communities, consistent with the company’s circular model.
We take the responsibility to recognize and value the diversity of our people. That is why we offer a favorable working environment and conditions allowing our employees to balance the performance of their duties and personal commitments in respect of their own capabilities and desire for development. Our DEI policy and Equal Opportunities Plan offer interventions in five key areas where strategic and practical approaches are needed to empower different social groups. These areas are:

  • Management engagement
  • Inclusive recruitment
  • Equitable remuneration
  • Inclusive culture in the workplace
  • Representativeness in management

We also support the cultivation of responsible consumer habits and environmental awareness among local communities. We organize initiatives for children, youth, and adults to promote the reuse of textiles and their proper disposal. We participate in educational and raising-awareness campaigns and deliver presentations in schools, teaching skills like repairing and repurposing clothing to extend their lifespan.

Additionally, we welcome visits to our facilities from specialized students, business representatives, and other stakeholders to showcase our mission and activities in action.

To better illustrate the positive impact of separate textile disposal, we created the Textile Eco Calculator — a tool that proves every properly discarded t-shirt makes a difference for the environment.

Corporate Governance and Ethics

ТexCycle’s brand owner, Eurotex ltd, complies with the strictest international standards, including:

Our Code of Conduct and Antibribery Policy apply fair competition and antibribery standards across our supply chain.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we participate in various EU-funded projects, which focus not only on developing innovative circular textile solutions but also on educating audiences about the importance of sustainable practices.

We are also proud members of numerous local, European,  and international textile recycling associations. Through these collaborations, we work alongside the broader fashion and textile circularity industries to develop effective circular solutions.

Having shared our goals and results with you, we encourage you to use our eco calculator to assess your own contribution to the environment.

GOALS

In 2024, we remained committed to making the greatest possible progress toward our established goals:

1.

Reducing our C02 footprint by 2% in terms of our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 transportation emissions.

2.

4% increase in collected post-consumer and post-industrial textile waste

3.

Prevent carbon emissions from new garment production by increasing the amount of sorted textiles by 5%.
